“Trying to get
everyone to like you
is a sign of mediocrity.”
— Colin Powell

Bill Cosby goes further and says “the key to failure is trying to please everybody.”

The answer? Please the right people. So, who’s that? Who has your money in their pockets? Answer those questions, and you’re on your way.

Fact is, using copywriting that appeals to the broadest possible market is like watering down wine to make it last. It makes sense on paper, but that doesn’t make it smart.

Ads we mock in chats around the water cooler or in social media speak volumes about those writers and the brand of copy they produce while trying to please everybody in their inability to commit to an audience.

Don’t settle for mediocrity.

Love your copy.

If your audience has money to spend, is well-educated, tech-friendly, worldly, and in their 20s through to their 40s, then I can help you connect.

I’ve stormed social media by being blunt, well-spoken, and saying things most people only think. I create resonance by being approachable and being myself, online and in person. While being fun to work with, I’m known for hitting marks with a sniper’s precision and creating rapid-fire quality copy that engages and challenges the public.

There’s no shortage of paper qualifications behind me, if you’re into that. I’ve got a Mass Communications & Journalism degree, have spent a decade editing scripts and captioning in the film industry, and have written a half-million-words or so in the blogosphere.

But speaking to your audience isn’t about experience, qualifications, or degrees.

It’s about resonating, communicating in identifiable terms, and creating connections. I do that, whether it’s engaging readers on my blog, speaking to audiences, or tearing up tweetstreams on Twitter.
